TableNinjaPP Common Questions

TableNinjaPP FAQ

We've compiled the answers to some common questions below. You can also check out our 2 plus 2 thread here. If you can't find the answer to your question feel free to ask a question on the TableNinjaPP Forums or email us at support@tableninja.com.

Q: Can I use TableNinja, TableNinjaFT, and/or TableNinjaPP at the same time?

A: We do not officially support using TableNinja, TableNinjaFT, and/or TableNinjaPP simultaneously to play on multiple sites at the same time. The reason for this is that the sites run independently and therefore you need to configure you system very carefully to avoid potential conflicts.

We do have a number of users who use TableNinja, TableNinjaFT, and/or TableNinjaPP to play on multiple sites at the same time and they have created an unofficial thread about the best way to do this here. If you decide to do this please test everything carefully at play money and be aware that we are not responsible for any issues that may occur.

Q: Do I need to have Hold'em Manager to run TableNinjaPP?

A: No, TableNinjaPP is a completely independent program that can be run separately, without Hold'em Manager. TableNinjaPP is compatible with all major commercial poker analytics software, including Hold'em Manager, but it can also be ran as a standalone program.

Q: TableNinjaPP says that I must "deactivate TableNinjaPP" on an old computer. What should I do?

A: Your purchase code allows you to use TableNinjaPP on up to two computers that you own at any given time. If you wish to install TableNinjaPP on a third computer you will have to deactivate TableNinjaPP on one of your other computers.

Note: If you reinstall Windows or format your hard-drive TableNinjaPP will consider your computer to be a new, different computer.

If you have unlocked TableNinjaPP on two or more computers in the past, you will be shown a popup asking you to deactivate TableNinjaPP on one of your old computers. Select one of your old computers to deactivate TableNinjaPP on using the drop down menu provided and click "Confirm". If you receive an error please contact customer support using the email address provided in the error message.

Q: Why does TableNinjaPP need to run as administrator on Windows Vista® and Windows 7®?

A: TableNinjaPP is able to provide tons of great features because it interacts with Windows® and the PartyPoker® software at a very low level. TableNinjaPP needs to run as administrator to do all sorts of things, from sending mouse and keyboard input to PartyPoker windows to saving hand history files and reading information from PartyPoker®. TableNinjaPP will automatically detect your system settings and attempt to Run as Adminstrator on its own if it is necessary. You'll just need to click continue on the User Account Control popup and everything should work smoothly.

Q: TableNinja could not detect my configuration, what should I do?

A: If TableNinjaPP is unable to detect your configuration you will need to configure TableNinjaPP manually. Click here for instructions.

Q: When I try to run TableNinjaPP I am seeing an error: "Unable to connect to server."

A: If you see this error message please verify that your system date and time is set correctly. Please also make sure that you are using the latest version of TableNinjaPP. To update TableNinjaPP please download the latest version from our website here. Then open the Zip file and double click on the "setup.exe" file and follow the on-screen instructions in the installer. If after updating TableNinjaPP you continue to have problems connecting please ask for help on the TableNinjaPP Technical Support forum.

Q: I am seeing a message at startup telling me that I must run the program as administrator, what should I do?

A: Please update TableNinjaPP and run the program as normal and things should run smoothly. You can download the latest version from our downloads page. If you need additional help feel free to ask for help on the TableNinjaPP Forums.. You can also try disabling User Account Control on Windows Vista®. Instructions for how to disable User Account Control and a discussion of the pros and cons of doing so are here.

Q: Is TableNinja an AutoHotkey Script?

A: No, TableNinjaPP was written from scratch and in no way uses AutoHotkey. It was built from the ground up and because of this TableNinjaPP is faster, more versatile, more user friendly, and more stable than most AutoHotkey scripts.

Q: I purchased TableNinjaPP but I haven't received my purchase code yet, where is it?

A: All TableNinjaPP purchase codes will be emailed to the email address that you used to purchase TableNinjaPP once your payment has cleared. Please be sure to check your spam folder for emails from sales@alxsoftware.com. Most people will receive their purchase code within an hour of purchasing. If after 24 hours you still have not received your purchase code and it is not in your spam filter please email support@alxsoftware.com.

Q: Does TableNinja support Omaha?

**???** A: Yes TableNinjaPP supports both Hold'em and Omaha.

Q: Will my custom background work with TableNinjaPP?

A: We only test TableNinjaPP on the default theme with the default backgrounds. However, you are welcome to try your custom background with TableNinjaPP. Generally solid color backgrounds that are not too close to the color of the buttons are likely to work with TableNinjaPP. Please test any custom background at play money before using them with TableNinjaPP in your regular games. Also be aware that we won't only be testing new updates with your custom backgrounds so anytime there is an update to TableNinjaPP or PartyPoker® you should make sure to test the new version with your custom background at play money.

Q: Will my custom theme work with TableNinjaPP?

A: We only test TableNinjaPP on the default theme with the default backgrounds. However, you are welcome to try your custom theme with TableNinjaPP. Also be aware that we won't only be testing new updates with your custom backgrounds so anytime there is an update to TableNinjaPP or PartyPoker® you should make sure to test the new version with your custom background at play money.

Q: My purchase code isn't working

A: Please double check that you've pasted the purchase code into the text field correctly. Depending on your email setup the purchase code may be two lines so make sure you've got it copied and pasted completely. If you continue to have problems please email the support address provided in the error message.

Q: How can I give TableNinjaPP as a gift?

A: We need to know the email address of the person you are giving the program to so that in the future if they wish to install the program on another machine, or purchases updates, or need customer support, we can easily link the person emailing us to a purchase. If you would like to give TableNinjaPP as a gift please email us at the time of purchase with the email address for the person you are giving the program to.

Q: How can I use TableNinjaPP with a gamepad or Joystick?

A: To use TableNinjaPP with a joystick you will need to download and use a third party program such as Xpadder®. TableNinjaPP does not directly read joystick input, but this program will convert your joystick input into keyboard or mouse commands which TableNinjaPP can then assign to hotkeys.

Q: Does the Cycle Tables hotkey turn off when I target non-PartyPoker® windows?

A: No, the Cycling Tables hotkeys stays on even when you are using other programs so that you can easily switch back to your tables anytime you like. Because of this we recommend assigning these hotkeys to a key you do not regularly use in other programs.

Q: Why doesn't the advanced action Check/Fold hotkey click check or fold when I use it on my turn when I use the Table In Foreground option?

A: We used to have the AA Check/Fold click the check or fold buttons if they appeared and the check/fold checkbox if they did not. The problem is that in the "Table in Foreground" method if you hit the AA check/fold hotkey right as a second table suddenly needed action, PartyPoker® would put the second table into the foreground and you would accidently fold at that table. Obviously accidently folding a big hand is a huge problem so we made all the advanced action hotkeys not work on your turn under the Table In Foreground method.

Q: How can I be sure that TableNinjaPP does not contain any spyware? Why does TableNinjaPP connect to the internet?

A: We value privacy greatly, however to check for updates and validate purchase codes, TableNinjaPP does need to connect to our server. TableNinjaPP connects to the internet in the following cases:

  1. On start-up.
  2. When you open the Purchase/Update menu.
  3. When you use your purchase code to unlock the full version.

These transactions are brief and no private information is transmitted save the email address used to purchase TableNinjaPP and some machine specific information that we use in our licensing system.

We encourage users who are worried about privacy to run any kind of internet monitor like ZoneAlarm to verify that TableNinjaPP only connects at these times and that the amount of data transmitted is far too small to contain any sensitive poker data.

Unfortunately we don't know of any way to 100% prove that our software doesn't contain any spyware. If anyone has suggestions as to other ways for us to demonstrate that TableNinjaPP contains no spyware or malicious code we welcome them.

Q: Will TableNinjaPP work with my AHK scripts?

A: We try to make TableNinjaPP compatible with scripts and other programs when possible. However, there may be issues when using other programs, particularly ones that interact with PartyPoker® tables. If you are running other programs or scripts with TableNinjaPP and you find a feature does not work properly please try and turn off your other programs and see if you still have the same problem.

Q: How is the pot size calculated for the percentage pot bets?

A: When you are the first to bet on a given street the pot-size is simply the total amount bet on all previous streets. In situations where someone else has bet in front of you TableNinjaPP calculates a pot-percentage bet as the amount of chips that have been bet prior to your action plus half of a minimum raise times the specified percentage, plus half of a minimum raise. For example, if you are first to act on the flop and the pot is 1000 and 80% pot bet would 800. As a second example, if the small blind and the big blind post the blinds and two players limp an 80% pot sized bet would be 4.6 big blinds. That's 80% of 4.5 big blinds plus one additional big blind.

Q: TableNinjaPP doesn't seem to be reading the pot size correctly, how can I fix this?

A: If TableNinjaPP is unable to read the pot an error message will pop-up from the system tray stating, "Could not determine the current pot size." To fix this first make sure that nothing (including your HUD) is covering the box displaying the pot size at the top of the PartyPoker® window. Then check that you have PartyPoker® configured according to our Required PartyPoker® Settings. If you continue to have problems please ask for help on the TableNinjaPP Forums.
